( i will upload the work that i have done so you can read it and do Analytic Reflection about it.)1- it is important to read my work so you can answer the questions below…((((( please make sure to do it correctly. THIS WORTH 100 POINTS)))))The Analytic Reflection on the Research Project (1-2 pages) gives you an opportunity to reflect critically and analytically on the process of researching and writing your final paper. Your goals:To examine your rhetorical choices thoughtfully and completelyTo write reflectively about the process of researching and composing your paperTo demonstrate engagement with the research project assignmentYour Analytic Reflection will have two main sections. Create two headings, one titled “Analysis”; the other titled “Reflection.”Under Analysis, consider the following questions. (Note: These are generative questions to get you started. You should try to answer all of them, but by no means are you limited to just these questions.) :What was your approach to your analysis of the primary text(s)? How did this approach help you contribute to a larger conversation about either the primary text or the issue on which you focus? What kind of audience do you imagine for your paper? What do you want readers to take away from your paper?Under Reflection, consider these questions (Again, these are generative questions.):How would you describe your experience of researching for and writing this paper? Did you encounter moments of frustration? What aspects of the process were most rewarding or illuminating? What did you learn about your research and composing processes? How have you grown through this process? What are you still working on?

Myth of Narcissus
The Narcissus mythology is considered to the be most famous Greek myths since it
presents Cephisus’ son Narcissus the son of Lyriope the nymph and the god of rivers. The
mythology presents Narcissus as a person with total beauty with a fantastic body which was
shaped in the form of god Apollo who loved him so much. This mythology is considered to
be a primary source; it is just a direct translation of the texted and was still yet to be studied.
The text presents us with a lesson which warns people against becoming vanity due to their
developed obesity with the beauty which is mostly considered to be temporary and fades
away with age. It identifies vanity as a human virtue which is to be avoided by every human
being.
In contemporary society, Narcissus has been associated with different things
including beauty and personality disorder. This state can be seen from the ancient times when
the Greeks were narrating their mythology (Trzesniewski et al. 122). It is was used in
teaching the people about beauty with its real nature but also, its dark sides which include
obsessions. The current times carries the interpretation of this concept to the present world. It
also closely associated with vanity which can be seen in our contemporary society. Different
authors have used their ways of describing and deducing their finds about the myth of
Narcissus which affects most people nowadays. And this paper will employ a key focus on
Narcissus obsession with the beauty which in turn develops a vanity in people, enslaving
them. These goals can be reached by providing pieces of evidence from materials presented
by psychiatrists and philosophers across the world.
Alsindi 2
Personality disorder might develop on people due to Narcissus influence on people’s
perceptions. When considering beautiful people, it is perceived that they have something
coveted by most people. Similarly, success is associated with beauty; hence people with
beauty are seen to be possessing vanity characteristic amongst themselves (Trzesniewski et
al. 101). Also, society has portrayed good things to be beautiful and bad things to be ugly
therefore bringing out disparities. In most of these descriptions’ personality disorder is
closely related to beauty disorder since they appear in one ideal story which is the Greek
mythology of Narcissus. Based on the interpreted literature of mythology by authors who are
psychiatrists and philosophers understanding the concepts from this literature can be
confusing as they are closely related even though they are dissimilar.
According to the Greek mythology presented by (Burton 22), there is much of
narcissus in people considering its duration of existence on personality and beauty disorder
which is stipulated in this interpretation of Narcissus Myth. However, (Burton 22) research is
completely limited to the available information on Narcissus since its just a myth hence it
tends to have similar interpretation on Narcissus which similarly talks about people’s longtime obsession about beauty. The book sticks in total focus on Narcissus obsession with the
beauty which makes him a slave to the presented idea, therefore, limiting the research
thoroughly. The shallowness of the book made the author to write another book trying to
connect this concept with another.
Currently, people talk much about the beauty of the body which forces others to
consider becoming beautiful with any means available (Burton 25). This situation has
enabled the beauty industry to develop drastically into a billion-dollar industry with many
features including all sorts of products like; skin lightening creams, to fake hair, nails, and
eyelashes. Others literary consider doing surgery to acquire their desired body shape and skin
Alsindi 3
color, therefore, enhancing their beauty. Since people are more focused on beauty, the beauty
companies go further and advertise their products and services using more beautiful models,
increasing people urge of becoming more beautiful (Burton 35). Also, society absorbs the
notion that ultimate beauty is associated with specific jobs like receptionist and brand
ambassadors who are supposed to be beautiful. These jobs lower other people’s esteem
especially those who miss those jobs, they end up seeing themselves as less beautiful hence
they resort to extreme beauty products.
According to our moral values, it would be crazy to crave to look as good as you can;
hence these kinds of people should be considered to have beauty and personality disorder;
thus, their behavior (Fiorentini, 23). They should be analyzed on the narcissistic personality
disorder to identify their final point and obsession level to avoid life and death situation.
Several cases have shown people seeking to thin further their waists by doing crazy things
like wearing bands that press their waist, and they tend to eat less hence they risk more their
lives (Burton 41). As a result, they commit a vanity which forces them to deform their bodies.
And by abusing their bodies, they tend to have negative consequences.
It is essential for the authors to scrutinize their Ovid as they seek to find answers to
the Narcissus myth which has generated controversies which talked about in a Latin poem by
Augustus who was the emperor of Rome. Most of these writings were written when he was
exiled as he seeks to change people perspective on beauty which affects their personality
(Burton 44). These writings help us in understanding the myth of Narcissus which is
developed for the times where people are obsessed with beauty as portrayed in the myth as it
should act as a warning
Burton wrote the book Hide and Seek which takes another approach on Narcissus
which commences which self-deception and self-sabotage as the main concepts. The concepts
Alsindi 4
Self-deception and self-sabotage mainly talks about lies and deception that people tell
themselves about beauty (Stone 33). It creates a particular perception which is clouds people
mind hence preferring beauty over qualities, therefore, creating a false aura which emanates
negative energy. This negative energy might later result in self-sabotage as people have to
compromise their integrity for beauty which has created a perception that emanates negative
energy across a specific field (MacDonald 10). This perception depicts beauty and
personality disorder. People’s personality changes due to the influences created by beauty
which is considered to be a particularly important factor for people.
When the authors were conducting their research, they offered their key contributions
which enhanced analysis being carried out on the narcissism and self-enhancement which has
been seeming to be rising over the last three decade which includes our current generation. It
has led to the formation of the self-esteem movement which has helped in the research of this
generation (Stone 40). The main focus of the group is the young children and young men
with the potential of having the narcissism. This article’s primary focus is the relevance of the
research and studies conducted on narcissistic people as a way of understanding this disorder
and its prevalence in the current generation and the generation which is just before us. The
“self-esteem” movement work with the current generation of people as they conduct their
study on the ever rising and inflated impression of these people when they are carefully
compared with other previously existing generations (Fiorentini, 54). The movement mostly
worked with the college student of the University of California while in their campuses since
they are the youngest generation. Hence, they could write and have a proper explanation of
their results to the other researchers. Researchers from different universities like the
University of Western Ontario London, ON, Canada have done their research under the
Department of Psychology (MacDonald 14). These authors drew their conclusion based on
the data from the mass testing sessions conducted when they were introducing the students to
Alsindi 5
their respective psychology classes primarily in the University of California where they
managed to get their primary data.
When the authors were conducting their research, they based their contribution to
Narcissism and self-enhancement, they decided to focus on the younger generation since this
disorder has been rapidly occurring among this generation. They place their primary focus on
“self-esteem movement” as it seeks to understand the disorder. Since the disorder is widely
known, it is essential to get the impression of the young people and compare them to the
previous generations (MacDonald 32).
When studying Narcissus in contemporary society examples of vanity must emanate
since it presents itself among groups of people and individuals across the globe. Studying
narcissus presents authors with the chance of researching and creating opinions about
philosophers who may include Freud which is a genuine reason for authors to accumulate
together their views and develop ideas and particular interpretation which might help study
narcissus (Knoespel, 12). The older narcissus is different from the current one since there is a
presence of social media which everyone access every day; therefore, celebrities and social
media personnel are the most affected. Pat MacDonald assembled a group which helped in
the analytic psychotherapy which as his specialty. As a writer and a lecturer, he carried out
many workshops with various members of the staff at the Westminster Pastoral Foundation;
hence each member presents a different narcissism aspect during this research (MacDonald
21). He went on writing a psychotherapy journal that explained more about the investigation.
This journal had much information about narcissism due to a particular interest in the
literature and psychotherapy.
In conclusion, the development of beauty obsessions as a vanity helps in the argument
presented by the authors about beauty and personality. Also, pride is considered to be a state
Alsindi 6
of mind which depicts individualism and selfishness in people for personal benefits. Also,
pride combined with beauty contributes to a more significant course which needs to be
discussed by the authors as they conduct their research (Knoespel, 21). The current studies on
narcissism show that people are looking at themselves and selfish reasons; hence they seek
approval from others for their beauty while attacking another person’s appearance. People
prefer body shaming others without considering their feelings and esteem thus portraying
vanity in the society. It clearly shows self- deception, and self-sabotage as they change their
appearance which may end up being erratic and affect them in other ways.
